Following up on earlier discussion here's a poll examining how widespread COVID-19 is within the PH community and its close connections. Only a week or so ago there were no cases among my own circle, today there are three.

The question you are asked to answer is:

How many people in your circle of family, friends and close colleagues have had (or believe they've had) COVID-19?

Let's define close colleagues as being those with whom you share a personal connection. Family and friends shouldn't require explanation...

At the risk of stating the obvious, there's no particular science to this. I just thought it would be interesting to have some "PH crowd-sourced" numbers to consider.

My daughter has had it, over the worst now though and almost back to normal. Not really in my close circle though as she’s 4000 miles away in Florida

1 confirmed - has just gone onto a ventilator. Fingers crossed.
4 claim they are feeling really crap (with symptoms - but not confirmed )
7 say feeling "a bit iffy"
About 20 or so who think they may have had it - but who knows.

I think that is what is scary about this thing - it is like a Hammer House of Horror movie - you never really get to see the monster - but it is the fear......

None.

Spoke to our Contracts Manager and Director on Wednesday, they're fine.

Also, as of yesterday, Mum / Step-Dad / Father-in-Law (all in their late 60's / early 70's) are good.

Everyone in local shops seem fine.

Approx 4 weeks ago both my kids had what seemed like a strange and mild stomach bug. Then my wife got it and was ill in bed for 3 days with V+D, and a vicious headache.
A couple of days later I got the sts real bad. Then a very, very sore throat. I did wonder, but then I got a very bad blocked sinus etc (not runny nose, but it felt like I had expanding foam in my sinus). So I ruled out the rona. I also, a day or so after that, lost my sense of taste and smell almost instantly one lunchtime to the point where I bit into a raw onion at home and could not taste or smell 1% of it. Went on for a while, felt like st for about 2 weeks. No cough other than the general one I have a lot of the time from dust etc (i'm a tradesmen).

Now, the kicker. During this time I did a job for a wifes friend (fitted a boiler). The husband was the only one at home that day (working from home) and I did chat to him a bit. I remember feeling a bit stty that day but obviously thinking it was manflu. Well, almost exactly 7 days after I did the job he came down with a very strong suspected case of coronavirus with the absolute stereo symptoms (fever + cough). From what I hear, his missus was very close to calling an ambulance one night due to his breathing difficulties. He got through it in the end.

There are various other people we know (mainly my wifes friends etc) who have displayed symptoms in the couple of weeks after. So we think it might have done the rounds among the people we know.

Might have just been a cold though I guess.

Woking south east area (thought that might help)

Our small office has one person confirmed and in hospital, a few of us have been unwell at the same time just before we were all preparing to work from home (a couple of weeks ago now). I think I and others at work may have had it too, partly due to the work mates confirmation but also given other confirmed people like Prince Charles and Nick Hancock seemingly suffered 'light' symptoms?

I still can't smell my aerosol deorderant (try every morning!)

My grandfather passed away on Sunday. Confirmed as CV but had multiple underlying issues and had taken a fall in the days prior. He had been isolating alone and fell in his house then taken to hospital and we think this is where he contracted it.

I can mirror this I think we could have had it despite the lack of persistent cough and fever. I think the cough and fever may indicate a harsher of more advance bodily fight stage ( this could be complete bs I'm no doctor). If you or I were royalty or in the cabinet we'd be sat here knowing, the antibody test will be an eye opener for us and those studying the virus.

You could have 5 people in the room all with it and all infectious, but ranging from feeling completely normal to soon to be hospitalised and anywhere inbetween.

Sounds like we both felt crap for longer than the famous confirmed cases I mentioned so it's a definite could be?

My condolences.

MiL and FiL both appear to have had it and now on the mend. Both overweight and diabetic in their 60s. My sister has also been unwell with a cough and fever, although relatively mild.

One of my neighbours was rushed in a few days ago via ambulance, confirmed Covid-19 the following day with pneumonitis. His wife was told it could go either way but I heard today he has improved a lot and should be ok. Early 40s with no known underlying issues.

I think I may have had it, along with various workmates. Total fatigue & tiredness lasted almost 2 weeks. Smell & taste all over the place. A fever/sweat for 24 hours with headache. I coughed on & off for a week, but difficult to know exactly as I smoke. Who knows? Maybe paranoia, or just some cold bug????

About 3 weeks ago started with a random dry cough felt a bit crap but nothing that bad then felt better for a couple of days then it came back a lot worse out of breath just walking around still didnt feel to bad though. 5 days later my apprentice I closely work with starts with exactly the same thing but got it a bit worse with a fever and feeling like st.

I'm still sceptical I had it but I find it hard to think that its a bit of a coincidence that me and my work mate get some respiratory infection we've both never had before. I used to be asthmatic as a kid and thats all I can describe it was like for me, like a constant asthma attack for a few days but also feeling a bit crap.

My boys great Granny / wife's granny

Wife is Spanish and her gran is in the largest old folks residence in Europe (in Madrid). Virus has cascaded through the place.

Gran is 95 and putting up a good fight. Currently on oxygen and antibiotics. Temp came down a good bit today. There is no prospect of a ventilator should she need one so we are hoping for the best and a chance for at least one more visit at some point.
