Mildly amusing story - I went into a Morrisons petrol station to ask if they knew the location of the nearest jet wash, as I wanted to wash the bike. The young lad behind the counter called a colleague over and said "He wants to wash his moped - wheres the nearest jet wash?". I thought this was quite funny and thought i'd make a joke of it, so I said "Did you just say MOPED?". All said in jest. Well the poor lad nearly messed himself - "Sorry, sorry, I just assumed, very sorry...etc".

It was only after I left, feeling a little bewildered, that it dawned on me that I was fully kitted, I still had my lid on and my dark visor was halfway down, so I imagine he could see nearly none of my face - no wonder I scared the poor chap!! :hehe:

Oh and I made sure I gave it plenty of revs as I left, just to clear up any lingering confusion :biglaugh:

I wouldn't use a jet wash for a bike anyway. Too easy to throw the grease out of various bearings around the bike.

A decent traffic film remover in a bucket of warm water and a sponge/cloth works a treat. Rinsed off with a light hose or watering can.

Job's a good'un.

I ordinarily would not, but last Saturday I spent hours polishing the footpegs etc on my Ninja to a mirror finish (they were a right state), then on Sunday I rode 185 miles, most of which were in the rain, my final destination being my holiday accommodation for the week - by Thursday the chrome was a mess again, the rain and salt having attacked it. It occurred to me that it may be doing lots of damage to other unseen areas of the bike and so I decided to give it a 'wee blast' with the jetwash.

Oh, and it DIDN'T occur to my small mind, that I would get very wet riding the thing back, especially if I rode there in jeans and T shirt (which I, ahem, did, but in my defence it was just down the road).

PS I would love a black Duke with Termi's!

Errr, no, errr, my girlfriend worries about me, so, errr, sprinkles the bike in salt in case it gets icy. Yeah, thats it.

More importantly, where did you get this Girlfriend from? I've been trying to find one to go with my Ninja and they appear to be rare as Rocking horse S*** or way overpriced!

They're not wholly compatible I must admit, but I find it works better if you have the manly ZX7R, rather than the decidely girly ZX6R

All you need now is a set of Carlos Fandango wheels, a chest wig and a bottle of Hai Karate.

You what? Your girlfriend won't go anywhere near your bike!

Frankly, you wouldn't have this sort of problem if you had invested properly in a ZZR1200...

Ahh, but this is my first bike... you're the big girl who had a Bandit! Perhaps your girl was impressed with your Feminine side?

LMAO at you lot! Chestwig indeed - it's a Kawasaki, not a Corvette!

Ok, ok, I guess I left myself wide open there!

Andy - you have been paying attention! I did indeed have a Bandit, but I gave it a proper send-off by launching it into someone's garden It was a complete guess that you had a 600 BTW, good choice! A friend has one and it felt very extreme when I first passed!

Malc. - You are correct, she won't get on it - but then neither does she call me an hour into a day-ride and moan until I give in and go home to mow the lawn

This could run, and run, and run, and.....

That was a one-off with severe mitigating circumstances, ( ...). You are probably better off with a girlfriend who won't get on the bike in some ways. Rides with 'er on the back dictate sensible behaviour. Rides with 'er on 'er little GPZ305 tend to be very slow and very dull...

Yeah, it felt very extreme when I passed in October... Now I've been grinding the Hero blob on the left peg!

Scary how quick we get used to things!
