360 handling, after 911
Discussion
I've recently bought my first Ferrari, a 360 spider, after years of owning 911s. I am a bit surprised by the number of times that the ASR traction control comes on. This is in normal road driving, in the dry, just smoothly applying the throttle through a bend eg a roundabout or a long sweeping curve, in second or third gear, not full-throttle. In the same corner the 911 (996 C2 with PSM) would be absolutely planted with no slide or intervention from PSM, maybe a touch of understeer.
I have heard lots of people say the 360 understeers, which is why I am surprised, I am not complaining, I am loving it, if I switch the ASR to sport mode it slides a bit, although I'm not sure I want to be sliding on the public road!
Is this normal? Maybe a function of the different weight distribution, obviously the 911 is well known for having superb traction.
Oh, and overall the 360 is awesome!

I found like you descrbed the traction control was cutting in overtime and destroyling any input . Since Scuderia Systems altered the suspension geometry on my 360 I drive it mainly with the ASR off. It`s IMO a question of compromise for the American market, like a dumb down mentality.
It`s a good feeling when the rear hooks up to the tarmac when you want it to rather than the computer.

the ASR hardly ever kicks in on my Modena. Only once that i can remember and boy im glad it came on !
I found the 360's handling to be dissapointing.
I have a 996 with sports pack (-10mm drop), my friend has a 360 spider. I can out handle the 360 without a problem, we were both very surpriesd at the difference in cornering speeds.
Won't stop me getting a 360 though, the looks, the sound! Awesome!!

Anyone has one of these?
Mmmh, since I just dropped in: would there be a 430 Stradale?
For it's me the Rari to have.
Or the 575 GTC:
