After reading lots of people's comments about road charging in various different places I think I have finally sussed the sneaky bastards.

A couple of years ago we had fuel tax protests. I think this seriously scared them.
Now they have come up with road charging and what is everyone saying "Put extra tax on fuel, it's fair".
Bloody clever that....

I've been thinking exactly the same, and have said as such to various people when discussing it. It's the same as the proposed "Up to £900" road tax they had, it's just so people won't mind if it 'only' goes up to £180 or something.
