I tend to use silicone grease on the back of my brake pads. As of yet (and with multiple track days) I have had no issues

Mintex ceratec grease is superb... probably similar to the product posted above,

+1 for Ceratec - I use the Pagid version, but it's also branded as Mintex or Textar.

From factory the brakes have very little grease externally - it attracts and holds dirt and dust. The pad locating pins - that the ears of the pad run on - just need to be smooth and clean to ensure they don't seize in place; regular cleaning keeps them free running.
