How to read fault codes on a Vauxhall Combo MK3 1.6CDTi van

I recently acquired a 2012 Vauxhall Combo 2300 1.6 CDTi van. I did not pay a lot for it with the intention that after a house clearance project, I would probably end up scrapping it. Having given it a good clean up inside and out, I am thinking that with some maintenance, I might be able to get it through its MOT in 6 months and keep it longer or sell it on.
The van has a few faults with lights on the dash, These are:
1. airbag light
2. door open light
3. fault on the stop-start system
The van had got clobbered on one of its sliding side doors, which no longer opens. It might be this that is throwing the 'door open' light, when ironically it won't budge! I really want to get to read what the fault codes are behind the dash lights, and do it as cheaply as possible. Even if I was happy to run it to a dealer, they are closed at the moment of course. If I can find the source faults, it will give me an idea of what it would take to fix up, and make a judgement as to whether this is economical and go 'all in', or send to scrap/break for parts.
So..how to read the codes?
I have a bluetooth OBD adapter from Ebay which has been fine on other cars in the past, but whatever apps I use with the Vauxhall, it does not communicate.
I have identified 'Op-com', which may be Vauxhall's own code system, but know nothing about it.
Please can anyone recommend what I need from Ebay with respect to hardware/software that might give me a hint on what is required to fix?

It will let you read fault codes from Vaux/Opel cars, it doesn't do ABS or Airbags but does all engine/body ecu's
There's also cracked APK's for android if you know where to look.
