I have a P20 Pro which I love, the camera is amazing, fast with decent battery life. The natural progression in a couple of months would have been to the P40 but with google problem, I can’t see me going for it.

I’m fairly tech-savvy and wouldn’t have an issue doing some of the workarounds but it’s come down to the finance apps for me. I pretty much exclusively use my phone to move money about, pay credit card bills, etc. but without the banking apps, I’d be going back to logging onto sites with card readers.

When I got the P20 it was a bargain compared to the equivalents from Samsung, this time it’s a little closer in price but I with the issues thought it would have been a lot cheaper on the pre-orders, potentially making it more attractive. The Samsung S20 is eye wateringly expensive.

So despite the issues, anyone in the UK going for it?

There are great deals available on the P30 Pro right now and that doesn't have the Google issues. I bought one in January and despite it now being a year old design it's still a great phone at the price you can get it for

I'm paying about £24 per month after cashback for 100gn, unlimited minutes and texts.

I was thinking that but not sure if it's a good enough upgrade from the P20 pro opposed to dropping to a sim only deal. This is only the second phone I've had that has come close to the end of the contract and still be competitive.
