Hi

My Servo motor on my 1995 Chimaera for the recirculating flap is not working and seized with rust
Is anyone able to give me the part number off the servo (my one is made by Crouzet but I can't read anything else on it) If I can I would love to be able to buy another one.
Also does anyone know how the wiring is attached to the switch as mine has been disconnected and I will need to know how to put it together

Cheers

confused

If you are refering to the heater controls then on the Chim' they are manually operated unless your car has been altered or is a Griff' (not S.E.).

I can't help with the part, but my '99 Chim with aircon has a recirculating flap/valve which is operated by a switch near my left knee. Unfortunately I don't know which way is fresh and which way is recirc!

I was asking about the electric motor that is down by the Left foot of the passenger beside the battery that controls the recirculating air flap

see photo

Mine is rusted and I am hoping to find out the part number so I can source a new one

That's a new one on me so I suspect that is the reason you have had a poor response to your post.

Does it work but just rusty or is it dead?

Wiring should be fairly straight forwards with those micro switches being the limit stops.
If wiring is missing/disconnected then try putting power direct to the motor to confirm if it runs in both directions.

Best I can offer for now.

Mine was stuck in recirc, hence the car steamed up really badly.

At its next service, I was told the motor was fubar and unobtainable, so they just repositioned the flap to fresh air - which is a better option.

Looks the same as the hot/cold and airflow direction motors on my Griffith. Yes they are no longer obtainable but you can get something similar as a replacement from TVR Parts.

As said above simply provide a 12v supply to it and see if it turns. If it doesn't it could be the plastic gears have jammed inside rather than the motor itself. You can get to the gears by levering off the flat case around the sprindle and take a look.

If the motors knackered don't through it away as I'd like a spare gear set if yours are good, happy to pay something for it

BTW if you've been trying to turn the spindle by hand you won't be able to as ther gear set is a reduction set so you can't turn the motor that way.

The most likely think to have broken is one of the microswitches, which then cuts the power to the motor so it won't work in either direction, if you can post a a close up picture of both microswitches it should be possible to see

micro switches are cheap and as sid may be all that is wrong which is why I suggested testing the motor directly.

Thanks for all your help guys -
the micro switches are tested fine
I will have a go at dismantling it and see if I can get it going
