that sounds rather a lot
do you have a tow bar on your car?
theres a company in birmingham that hires trailers 30-40 quid probably one your way too
i have just bought a car trailer but not paid for it yet so not picked it up - it will need brakes checked out but that will be after newark at the weekend
alternatively there are sprung towing bars availble at machine mart which allow you to tow safely even on motorway assuming you have a towbar
from around 25 quid
if you havnt sorted it by next monday give me a call
numbers in transmissions mag this month
i have a car that will tow it so if your stuck may be able to do something

Just to throw my two-pennithworth in......firstly, is the sellor willing to hold on to the Jeep for a while until you get things sorted? Are there any Club Members living nearby the sellor who can help out maybe? When I was looking at a Jeep some distance away from me, I looked thru Yellow Pages/ asked around, some car-related transport companies may do the job for you....although the going rate seems to be £1 per mile round trip. Just to let you know...when I had to get my Jeep inspected, I was charged £75 for a 30 mile round trip, although admittedly, an expected waiting time charge was built into that figure...I thought it was a high price to pay...but basically I was held by the short and curly's on this particular occassion.
Lastly, if DrSeg helps you out with this....may I suggest at least a crate of Asda Baby Oil gets passed his way lol. Nice to be part of a club where members are willing to help each other out.

When I collected my 2 projects a couple of weeks ago I hired a transporter trailer for £10/day , used my car, took it steady at 60 unladen 50 loaded , each trip cost just under £40 in petrol so both 270 mile round trips worked out at 20p/mile.

As long as you have a suitably heavy tow car , go for it!
