Does anyone know if there is a good waterproof hood cover out there which is available new for the Griff/Chim? It looks like the leven one is no longer made by anyone(?) and I have read of people using mx5 ones instead? I need a good waterproof cover and don't know where to look as I can't find a reference for a successfully used mx5 one either??!!

Halfords used to sell generic half covers. I don't know whether they still do.

https://www.mx5parts.co.uk/ sell them for the MX5.

Hi, I used a waterproof half cover from classic additions on an Elan and it was fine, they list a cover for a Griffith and other TVRs too

I bought a Z4 hood cover that is really good and fits in the TVR clearance sense. It does however use magnets to stop the wind flapping it over which obviously works well with our plastic body. I have implemented a high tech solution in the form of a bit of wood weighting it at the back.

Thank all for the replies. I wanted something that would be windproof and preferably retained under the bonnet boot or both. The Leven one was ideal. I might get what looks like the most heavy duty one from those suggestions and modify it to have a boot and bonnet retainer 😀

Hello AJP Griff,

I’ve got an original Leven one somewhere which you would be welcome to if you want it.

I used it for a couple of years (a number of years ago!) when my car lived outside but I can’t see me using it again. I did find it left small scratches along the front of the boot lid after a while so might not be best on a freshly painted car but it certainly gave good protection from rain and sun.

I’m in Warwick; I can’t really post it to you but you would be welcome to collect it if you or anyone else are coming this way?

(Is L110 up and running again? I sent you some old photos of it with development AJP8 some years back!)
