2007 987 S manual - ticking noise when idling
Discussion
Hi having owned a 986 s for a few years I upgraded to a newer 987 at the end of last year. No horror stories with either car and new one has been well maintained and came with Porsche warranty which I have extended. However, I have noticed a loud ticking noise heard best from driver side air intake grill when car is idling. It’s also audible at low speeds. Has anyone else had anything similar?

One possibility could be a stuck hydraulic tappet, this only usually happens if the car has been sitting unused for a decent period of time.I've had this a few times, it usually clears itself after running a short while in my experience.
