Hi,

Having a bit of trouble opening a new bank account for Holdings Company that will allow me to apply online. Any tips for who best to apply to?

HSBC don't like holding companies (but have online applications).
Santander don't have online applications and I've spent too long on hold waiting for someone to answer - most likely to be told i need to visit a branch.
RBS - reasons I can't use.
Barclays - not accepting new customers due to COVID.
Starling - wont say why not able just a blanket not at this time.
Monzo - same.

I'll continue to look round but thought i;d pause to ask if anyone having same but conquered it?

TIA

I used Lloyds (but was already doing so for the trading subsidiary).

Revolut were useless & just didn't get it.

Once you have a main account set up the others tend to fall into line if you still need them (savings accounts). All pre Covid so can't help with those just closed for business.

We had similar issues as we reactivated a UK company that was dormant for years when we setup our UK operation back in 2014

We used Hampden Bank in the end and they have been brilliant so far.

Hope this helps.

I've opened a NatWest Business current account just last week for a new venture.

Also opened up a Business Reserve account with NatWest online for our main business - fairly painless, if you are an existing customer.
