GT4 Steering Warning Light
Discussion
I decided to use the GT4 for a trip to the office to pick up some paper work.
The warning light came on "Steering support restricted adapted driving permitted" I've looked in the manual and it states Power steering is temporarily reduced, adapt your driving style and speed to change the conditions, I've tried everything on the way back but I can't get the warning light to go off, the steering doesn't feel any different, any ideas?
Hope you are all staying safe.

Worth a try; as generally centres are closed except regarding key worker breakdowns:
If the battery charge was a bit low when starting, the PAS can be thrown offline. The steering stops can be 'lost' - a bit like the one-touch window programming.
To reteach the stops; try the following:
Start the car, steer to full left lock, hold the steering against the stop with a fairly high load for 10 seconds; then repeat on full right lock. Centre the steering and leave the engine idling for 10 seconds. Switch the engine off; then key out and lock the car for 45 seconds. Unlock the car and restart the engine - check for the warning light. If the light is on again; repeat the process but start with full right lock this time - repeat all other steps.
If the above has no effect then an OPC visit will be required unfortunately. As far as I know Hatfield and Guildford in the PRG group have provision for breakdown as do Swindon and Tewkesbury. Only Locally held Parts would be available though so expect an unavoidable delay if any are required.
As I say; worth a go - wont make anything worse.
