"Unreal! How did they do that? It's a blend of what the 991.2 Turbo S was and a GT3 RS," I said. "It's sharp, delicate, precise, talkative, but bloody fast, too. I wasn't expecting this at all. This is a driver's car."

a Turbo S which drive like a RS , still want that GT2 RS ?

great steering !

"before power steering, much less electric-assisted power steering. "They've nailed it!" I thought. Clearly, there's ample institutional memory and pride at Porsche when it comes to steering."

I love it, looks amazing imo.

Game changer it seems.

Its my favourite 992 version so far..I might consider getting one next year if we're all still here..I love the way it looks but mine will have to be in Jet Black or GT Silver.

reviews are I guess.

The facts though stand alone and make nice reading, if it is even an ounce better on steering feel and driver focused that's got to be good.

Take 640bhp, 800Nm torque, 0 - 60 2.6 seconds, 0 - 100 mph 5.8 seconds

it's pretty mental as we know it will do 2.3 and 5.5 no problem.

I agree top gear poland recorded 991 turbo cab s in 2.6 and circa 5.8 stock against this Lambo. Same thing happened to Aventador S yikes

I thought Matt Farah’s video summed it up pretty well....fantastic car but the standard Carrera S feels closer than ever to a Turbo S (for obvious reasons) and what the Turbo S can do that the Carrera S can’t is pretty much inaccessible on the public road.

Exactly, it seems that reviewers are only thinking that the TurboS only feels different to the base models once the speeds reach 3 digits..

I think Porsche might have shot themselves in the foot a bit with the current range, as the price differential doesn’t reflect the driving experience imo...

Also the bog std Carrera is easily chippable to similar outputs if you wish to trash your warranty.

yeah tbh I came away from watching the reviews as it's a bit of a disapointment. not faster than a standard carrera s below 100mph and the steering/precision/character is overall not any different.

a bit of a disapointment really as I was expecting everyone to be blown away by it

How is it not faster below 100? Surely it is .

Porsche do this every time.
A bit faster, a bit sharper. A bit bigger.
Journalists swooning and you wonder why the last one all of a sudden was so bad.
I’m sure it is a great car. They all are.

It is Carrera S according to Autocar is 0-60 in 3.4....Turbo S is 2.6 secs. But I think Matt Farah’s point was it feels almost identical in terms of driving experience to the Carrera S because you can’t really access that extra performance. Sure it’ll be blisteringly quick 30 to 70mph but that’ll be a short lived sensation !

Possibly makes the GT2RS a touch redundant.

That is a fair point AV....although will obviously be a much more focused driving experience.

Feels like the horsepower race is run to me, especially when electric cars are this quick anyway....I know it’s not going to happen but It’s a shame they can’t make a genuine effort at making the 911 lighter.

I would very much like one but the cost to change from my 992 S will be mental.

It does look very good indeed and there appears to be pretty much universal positive coverage.
- I will still hold out for a 992 GT3 RS but it is probably just my own eccentricity.

Hopefully as a long term RS owner you’ll be able to get one. Times are possibly changing for the GT car allocation game !

I think it will be a whole lot easier...my bet is that the allocation game will be a thing of the past. I will get one for sure, but I don't think it will be anything like as difficult for general buyers.

I also think we will see an and to the crazy used prices from flipping. I was never an investor in cars and only paid list, so the silly uplift and subsequent downdraft were of no interest as I tend to put miles on my cars and to keep them for long periods. I found all the stuff about values to be tiresome. Its just a car to have fun with and to drive hard in my book.

Matt Farah has released a “just the noise” vid of the Turbo S. Not a lot of noise
