Singers who MAKE a band....

we've had the singers who can ruin a band's music - are there any out there who really make a difference and/or lift the music to a higher level?

I'd be thinking Marillion and Fish (as an example). Steve Hogarth is a very good vocalist but, for me, the 1st 4 Marillion albums really are a step above (to be fair this could be an age related thing too!)

Jim Morrison certainly made the Doors. Once he was gone, they couldn't keep going (they did try) shame really as they were a talented lot too.

Like them or not, all these singers were / are integral to their bands, without them they are lost.

Radiohead are amazing, but would not be anywhere near as good without his vocals.

The same for Randy Blythe and Lamb of God.
