Pregnant wife, lost filling, any dentists help?
Discussion
My wife is currently pregnant and has lost a filling, the local dentists are closed unless its a serious emergency and she's getting quite stressed as no one can see her or even advise.
She's worried that the tooth will become infected leading to further issues which is understandable. I managed to get hold of some of the diy temporary filling stuff but it makes no mention of being safe to use during pregnancy.
The stuff i have is made by dentek and theres no phone number for them, i think it might be American.
So is it safe to use? What can we do....
Not the best time to be pregnant and not the best time to be pregnant with a potential tooth issue

Her dentist should be giving phone advise. If she gets pain you will need to ring 111 and they will let her know of the regional emergency dentist hub,( but these are still being set up.) In regards to advise, keep the area as clean as possible try not let Food pack into it. Temporary fillings are safe for pregnant women the only medicaments not advised is amalgam (silver fillings) which are only placed at a dentist anyway. (But not on under 16s or pregnant people)
Thank you
She has spoken to her dentist and the only one she can get hold of is a young 20 something who is quite flippant in saying 'erm, i think its ok'
She doesn't have any pain yet and has been salt water rinsing before bed, just incase of infection.
She's a massive massive worrier and is terrified of what she's putting in there.

No pain is a good sign and it is unlikely to get infected if it is just a breakage and not a collapse due to a massive hole. Rough/sharp edges can be smoothed with and emery nail file board, it won’t compromise any repair.
If it is fillable sort of hole rather than a sheared off fracture it can be self temporarily filled. In the absence of a proper kit, get some chewing gum, chew it till it has no sugar/flavour and is really sticky, roll up a cavity sized piece and pop it in the cavity. Eat on other side till it sets.
