Can anyone confirm the bore size of the clutch master and slave cylinder on a 1998 450?

I was under the impression it should have a 3/4" m/cyl with a 7/8" slave.

However I've read on here someone said they had a 0.7" m/cyl with a 1" slave.

I've noticed TVR parts list a 1" slave as an upgrade for a lighter pedal so I'm well and truly confused.

I'll be removing the ones from the car in the near future but the pedal is very heavy so I'd like to go with what's recommended by others.

If you have an existing 7/8 of an inch slave and fit a 1 inch slave then the peddle pressure will be slightly lighter but you will require slightly more travel to achieve the same result. The travel you probably wouldn't notice but you may well benefit with a slightly lighter feel.

I've been down this road - you cannot effectively lighten the Clutch this way...

You CAN make the pedal very light changing hydraulics (larger slave or smaller master or both) but it then won't move the clutch enough to release it properly hence not effective.

Do yourself a favour and save yourself time and money - lighten the clutch this way:
