One day Tonker all this will be over.....

Ok, as I understand it costs awarded to the defence will come out of Central Funds. An application for costs has to be made to "the appropriate authority" who may ask for a breakdown on certain items and has to be submitted within 3 months of the Order being made.

If I remember your case was before a Magistrates Court, was it not, so the "appropriate authority" as defined under Costs in Criminal Cases (General) Regs, 1986 is the Magistrates Clerk of the Court involved.

Suggest you make an appointment and have a face to face with him to get the matter resolved.

DVD

Horrible thought overnight - did you brief make the application and funds paid out to his Chambers???????

Just one small point to add to DVD's advice.

When you do meet up with the Clerk of the Court which awarded the costs, please remember they are just a bod trying to do their job to best of their ability within a system which at times is all too flawed.
