So I have a Tag Carerra that’s 14 years old or so.
5 years ago I paid USD500 for it to be serviced( losing time) replace the crown and get it fresh and working
Now 5 years on the chronograph function does not work and it’s losing time again
I know these things need servicing but I think I might go another route this time and buy a new watch and put the Tag aside for a little while

I do not want a Rolex look a like type thing, more something individual

I love photography so considering this

https://tacs-image.com/product/avl2/

Or a gps / smart watch
I’m not too interested in the Apple Watch, but a Garmin finex or Suunto ?
I’d be interested in the health side, like heart rate monitoring / calorie count etc (I’m getting old so figuare it may assist)

Any thoughts / suggestions welcome

The Withings ScanWatch is an upcoming hybrid smartwatch that has heart tracking functionality.

Casio have a fitness watch coming soon.

As for the TAG Heuer, mechanical watches need servicing every five years or so. So you're probably due one, especially if it's not running properly.

Thanks , the Withings watch looks interesting, the gshock is probably looking a bit OTT for me, the Garmin Fenix range is as chunky as i like

Has anyone bought a Garmin Fenix range?

Would be interested exactly how well they work/ connect/ speed of applications / real world battery usage

Search for the Fenix 5 and Fenix 6 threads (think they are in the computer forum). Plenty of us happy with them and I generally wear mine over my Daytona or Master Geo.

Garmin Instinct is quite popular and not too bulky, I ended up getting a Casio F20 after considering that and a Suunto Traverse, as I wanted a colour screen, Casio have just launched the f30 with a heart rate monitor.

I have a Garmin Instinct. I really like it.

You can buy in the UK for under 200 pounds.

GPS. heart monitor. Very robust. Compass. Barometer. Altimeter. Mapping. Great for hiking running cycling walking and other sports . And because the screen is black and white the batteries last a long time unlike the Fenix.

It's basically the same functionality as the Fenix without the colour screen and detailed mapping .. and it is lighter more robust and about 1/3 the price.

Superb for outdoor sports and very comfortable as a normal watch.. very light and not too bulky

Can't help but think that is overpriced for what it is. You're just paying for the look.
