There’s a secret hidden Torx head bolt in the vertical channel behind the rubber seal.
Best way to get this out is with a screwdriver flexi extension. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-300mm-FLEXIBLE-FLEXI...
The bolt also goes in at a slight angle off vertical, which is handy to know if you’re struggling to get the bolt to bite on the way back in.
Very important not to cross thread going back in, so use the old reverse technique when doing up the bolt and wait for the click so that you know the thread on the bolt and channel are at the correct position.

Yes that hidden torx bolt will use up a lot of time as it's a s*d to get out and especially back in.
The other tip is before you bolt down the mirror bracket to the door ensure the glass upright part aligns with the rubber seal on the door frame as they need a little fettling to get correct. My drivers side was 2 to 3mm short of the door frame top which meant I had to dissamble and pack one bolt between the door and bracket. As I have been doing this over a couple of months I forgot there was foam under the bracket acting as packing material....

I think the OP has already removed the arms from the car, the question is about removing the aluminium hub or pivot of the head. I have the same issue with one of my mirrors, there’s no way of accessing them well enough to repaint in situ. But I can’t see any way of separating from the head without some sort of special tool. If anyone knows any better I’ll be glad to hear.
