Dug out an old Dell monitor as I'm working from home for the foreseeable future.

On any MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel etc) it's blurry. Readable but blurry.

But if I was to (say) watch a YouTube video, set it to HD quality, the picture is absolutely spot on.

I seem to have tried everything to sort it, either via "Display" on the computer, or using the manual auto-focus buttons on the monitor itself, but nothing seems to make any difference.

I know it's a long shot, and somewhat vague, but any others what could be causing this? frown

Have you tried enabling and adjusting "Clear type text"?

You can find this in the display control panel.

Also check that your refresh rate matches that of the monitor capabilities.

Thanks Tony. I don't seem to be able to find "clear type text" in my Display panel :-/

Refresh rate is set to 60, which looks OK.

I've also already got the "let windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry" set to "on", but doesn't seem to do anything.

On the TV I'm using as a monitor I had to turn the sharpness all the way off. It wasn't blurry blurry, more of a halo around text which gave a similar effect.

Instructions on how to adjust clear type in Windows 10 (which I presume you have?)

Also - check the magnification settings (text size - it sounds as though you might have done this already though)
