CBILS for diversification
Discussion
Is it feasible to use a CBILS loan for diversification of a current business?
My small ltd company has fallen foul of the covid-19 situation and its unlikely we will be able to restart our normal work for some time (we service and repair caravans and motorhomes). I'm considering options currently and I'm tempted if its possible to diversify and use the down time to convert a campervan or two and start a campervan hire business as another arm of our existing company so when the restrictions are sufficiently eased its extra income. If the rental side falls through there would be sufficient profit in the sale of the professionally converted campers to cover the expenses of the idea.
Loan would be used to fund the base vehicles and materials for the conversion.
Any thoughts?

Campervan hire strikes me as a good market to get into when the time is right (which I guess would be a bit before the restrictions are lifted). I reckon people are going to ask themselves whether they really need to go abroad for holidays and expose themselves to various infection-laded scenarios such as recirculated air in planes and catering by staff who live in close contact with their colleagues.
