Got my clutch!!!
Discussion
It's been ready for a couple of weeks, but haven't had chance to go and collect.
Picked it up yesterday, all I need to do now is find a free day to fit it
From this....
To this, kevlar linings, flat diaphragm spring, etc....guaranteed to last!!!

Is this the one discussed a few weeks ago ?!
So is it ready then for fitting. Very interesting to see how you get on. surely Ash / SXS is interested in an update on this one for project phoenix?
Yep, I've been waiting a while, it took them a lot longer than anticipated.
I've spoken to Ash about it, and have sent him an e-mail asking for all the specs he requires, however have heard nothing back.
The company are very interested......
Hello All
I am new to here as I am thinking of buying a Cerb and have been reading these forums for about 2 months and been scared to post something lol coz you are all TVR owners and I am not yet
Been particularly interested in the clutch probs
I was looking at the clutch 3-Leg Manx thingy in the centre and I thought it was some type of Clutch Bearing return anti-finger scuffing thingy? to hold the bearing off the fingers with a good amount of clearance?
Just one other thing.......I thought TVR spares were expensive? they seem reasonable compared with my GSXR

Welcome Porkus,
Spot on, because a flat diaphragm spring has been fitted in place of a raised one, the clutch was clearing right at the end of the slave cyl. travel.
The pad in the centre has been designed for 2 reasons.
The first is to allow the correct amount of clearance whilst the slave cyl. is in it's fully rear posistion, and to ensure that the it is not over-travelled.
Secondly, it is there to allow a smoother engagment between release bearing and diaphragm.

Is it a straight swap?
How much?
Yep,
If they do another, which is unlikley....it'll be about 1.2K
I thought this project was to find a cheaper option!
1.2 is if they do another, I was quoted £700, and that's what I paid, but sorting it was so labour intensive, that they lost money. I was hoping this may be a way of sorting cerb clutch issues, and it is....but as always, it comes at a price.
If someone can give me the details and dimensions I need I could do a drawing in AutoCAD of the clutch diapraghm and perhaps re-engineer it to be better?? and if they gave me an old broken portion of the finger I could perhaps try and find out what material it is?
The we could see if we could get some new redesigned diapraghms lasercut?
Is it easy to get the diapraghm out? if it is we could DIY our own when the fingers break
I mean to be honest from an Engineering POV it doesnt look an extremely complicated part!
