30K - Kia stinger GTS or used Jag XJR (15 onwards)

Alright ladies and gents.
Looking on the used markets and after following the Jag XJ's for a while now they're slowly coming into budget. I've always preferred cars that arent common, hence the title. I know they're both heavy (Jag is actually light for its size, still 1800kg granted) and I like the fact the kia is a KIA. If you were to remove the badge and put on a german one it would have sold through the roof, but as the uk is badge weary they haven't. Just thought I'd ask what people which one fellow phers would buy.
I like all the tech in the kia, think it looks great and the yanks/aussies have tuned they up pretty nicely. Can see myself lowering it, nicer wheels and just general small improvements.
I dont like the fact theres not really a manual mode per say, just for a few seconds. Compared to the jag the ij interior quality may not be as nice (but probably more reliable) and just a few bits here and there..
The jag. Love the looks, sound, fact its supercharged and that its british (well...) and with a pulley upgrade and a free-er 'zaust you're looking at 650ish bhp.
Not too keen on infotainment, the fact the repairs or parts would be more expensive and probably not much other than engine I would be able to do to it.
Literally just want to see between the two what peoples thoughts are and any previous experience with them, thanks!
Not interested in the usual MB, AUDI, BM etc etc. Just these 2 please 👍 stay safe

Have a read of this.. I like the Stinger, as you've noticed there aren't many about. Not sure about running costs etc but the thread linked above should give you a rough idea of what to expect.

I'd go for the Stinger get some H&R springs as well as nice set of alloys & really stand out a little bit of pipe work adds a lot of aural enjoyment.
You can do the same to the Jag (drop links for the air suspension ) & you'll have more power as well as another distinctive car, I love a V8 but in this case I'd take the Stinger.
I know you said just these two but take a look at the Genesis they're rare lots of chances to make it your own but there's not much scope for engine tuning beyond a map & exhaust

Yes, H&R springs with some nicer dished wheels is what I'd do to the stinger. Also like the splitter kits that are floating around for them too, will defo do something with the exhaust when if I were to remap too (just not many custom maps in the uk unlike other countries, never been a fan of generic maps.)
If I were to buy one it'd either be red, orange or yellow as i think it'd proper stand out.
In regards to the jag I do think the 5.0 supercharged are supposed to be bulletproof according to owners, with only a few niggles on the pre facelift XJR's. Think a nicer set of wheels, bigger calipers and like you say lower links will make them look like a proper low, long and mean beast.
Obviously I understand fuel will be rubbish in both (although I've been in the J and it averaged 38mpg over a 100mile journey so better than my current Focus ST)
And I know stuff like rotors wont be cheap and pads will be here and there. I also know the warranty would be void with me tinkering so I like to think my heads screwed on in some aspects, just trying to work out if the juice is worth the squeeze..
