Fiesta mk2, no drive
Discussion
Hi I’m new to group , and after some help, I have a fiesta mk2 1.1 D-reg 26000 miles
My project , done various things to it,
But have problem, clutch pedal sits fine , feels good I can select all gears but have no drive , I can leave it in gear and car does not move at all, can see cable on top of box move clutch cable I think , and rod ar bottom seems to be moving , could it be clutch fluid ?? Master cylinder any help appreciated

If there is a clutch cable then there isn’t any hydraulic elements. Is the clutch release fork still on its pivot pin? First thing I would do is get someone to push the pedal down and make sure the clutch arm is moving far enough in both directions, if the cable is too tight the clutch will not engage. Check the adjustment and then go from there.
Mk2 Fiesta has a cable-operated clutch, check it is moving the clutch release lever.
Lack of drive , even when selecting gear?
Is your gear changing rod connected to the gearbox,? Maybe it's not changing out of neutral. I believe it's a clamp bolt that can work loose.
Maybe the clutch plates are completely bald, meaning they won't transmit drive to the gearbox.
Maybe there's a fault with the gearbox, sheared cogs etc.
I'd certainly get the gearbox off and look at the clutch and check the gearbox.

The gear selector on the Mk2 is only clamped at the gearbox end. It's common for the selector rod from the gearstick to just slide around on the gearbox selector shaft. Check the clamp is done up tight enough or try selecting gears directly on the gearbox selector shaft using a pair of molegrips etc.
