De Cat process

I have a 4.5 and am considering decatting it.

assuming its simple enough to get the cats out where would i get new pipes to replace them?

Easy job to do - just involves unscrewing the metal protection plate (17mm bolts secure it) and then unbolt each cat. The bolts may well rust in place, but it's easy enough to cut them out. I've done it myself on ramps on the drive, but it's difficult to get the car high enough, so I wouldn't do it again myself - not worth it to save a few quid.

My 4.2 runs a sports exhaust and once I'd decatted it, I found it far too noisy. The pops and bangs on overun were also well over the top (people start ducking in the cars around you, thinking it's a terrorist attack). Some people love it, but way too much for me - made the car sound like a Nova heading to Kwik Fit with the exhaust having fallen off.

I haven't heard it with a stock back box, though, and many people reckon that's the ultimate set-up for both power and exhaust note.
