Good morning All,

I need a new Laptop for WFH duties. Will buy myself and be reimbursed by work. My current laptop is 9 years old and starting to slow despite numerous overhauls. Therefore can anyone recommend a good laptop for under 400gbp? I dont need a fancy gaming model, just one for the usual office tasks and internet surfing, music and photos.

Many thanks in advance.

Does it have to be new?

What size screen do you want?

15 inch would be a good screen. would prefer if it was new given what i'll do with it.

Bit overbudget, but I purchased 5+ of these recently, they were cheaper before corona:

Upgrade to 8gb ram and an SSD and they are great no nonsense powerful machines for bread and butter work

Heres similiar for in budget, make sure you get an SSD and at least 8gb ram:

Ive bought quite a bit from Tier1 and Value, both are good suppliers

My Mrs had similar criteria and budget at the start of the lockdown and went for one of these.

She's found it ideal for her needs, she specifically wanted new rather than refurbished or 2nd hand.

What does your work involve? any particular software needed?

Can get a very good Chromebook for that money! Really depends if you need specific software though and if your work documents will play nice with Google Docs or Office 365.
