Due to racing taking up all my time over the last few years my road car has been parked up in our Barn.

For those who are new and don’t know me I purchased the car when I was just 18 14 years ago now! I had always dreamed of owning a yellow Cerbera and made it happen.

She’s one of the early 4.5’s and was a great car with a steel crank, AC and the quick steering rack. Still an all original car with single lights etc.

I used to do all of the tunnel runs and a few track days here and there in her before the racing side of things left me with no time. Back in the day I had the short induction and remap done by Jules and fitted the 330mm brake kit.

Infact in 2008 we had some engine issues with the race car so took the engine out of this car for the season. Amazingly after 60000 miles we raced all year without an issue and won the TVR Championship! The engine didn’t miss a beat and made 409bhp at Julians after the season. It just shows how good these AJP engine are!

The engine went back in and I used the car very occasionally. I decided to refresh the engine in 2011 and amazingly when opened up she looked like new! In 2013 I took her to Le Mans and then parked her in a barn at our farm in 2014 when racing commitments meant I was too busy to use her.

With all this free time I suddenly have, I have decided to do a full body off refurb Which I have been meaning too for a good few years now.

On Sunday I pulled her out of the barn, still in it’s throwback Le Mans livery.

Luckily all the decals came off with no problems and have left no marks.

I have already got the body off and the great news is that the chassis is still in pretty good condition, I guess the dry storage has helped

Even the interior is ok. Carpets aren’t great and a couple or wear marks on the drivers seats.

So the plan is that over the next few weeks I will refurbish the chassis and get it coated. Change all the bushes and tidy up the fixings in general. I have a brand new uprated T5 box that can go back in.

I’m also going to make a few changes:

I’m going to fit one or our 4.7 race engines but retain the wet sump system for originality.

Fit a set of 2 way adjustable ohlins

Use our spare racing plate differential instead of the hydratrack

I then want to get all the carpets replaced and the interior tidied up. Not sure who I should get to do this?

Can’t wait to have her back how she used to be and actually use her regularly!

Mine is just finished, minus the seats and main interior. Or just throw the car at someone and get your wallet out.

I don’t have the patience for interior work. To get the desired result I will need someone to do it. Any recommendations out there? Close to Kent would be a bonus!

Mike, looks as though you're finding stuff to do then!

Since the session at SRR with Joolz, did you get any track time with the race car? Sure you'll be updating us with any exploits when Motorsport UK lift the ban.

Nick.

Brilliant news Mike !!

It broke my heart when I heard that the motor had been taken out of her
BUT
This new rebuild story brings a smile to an old, self-isolated man's face.

They are not near you
BUT
Trim Unique seem to be bloody good thumbup

Not as fast as you
BUT
Still at it....

I dread to think what you are doing to that Cerbera but I’m pretty sure that it is something rude!
