Rear upper wishbone mod.
Discussion
As there is now no hurry to get the car back on the road, I am spinning out the body-off chassis repair job.
I have never figured out why the upper rear wishbone outer end is slotted 1/2" to take a 7/16" bolt. With a torque setting of 45-50 lb ft the tube in the bushing tries to meet the nut by collapsing the washer either side into the slot.

I wanted a more substantial slotted end to the wishbone, a 29/64" slot and hardened steel washers on the outside at least.
I decided to cut out the old slotted end, weld in new ends using 29/64" slotted 5mm mild steel plate and use cylinderhead washers.

The end result is a smoothly adjustable camber and solid fixing for the upright so very pleased with the effort.
Dougal.
