2K Lacquer Safety Advice
Discussion
Hi, I am looking for some safety advise on using 2k lacquer.
I am using Manns Trade Pro Lacquer which contains isocyanates, however I am applying it using a brush rather than spraying. Does anyone know if this still poses the same level of risk as it is not atomised?
At present, I am using a 3M half face respirator with A2 organic filter cartridges (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000U749VE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
I have two extraction fans moving quite a bit of air through some ducting to the outside of the building. After reading a lot about 2k products, I am not sure whether to upgrade to an airfed mask or not?
Any advice would be appreciated,
Thanks
Matt

In the link you provide there are the Datasheets for the product which give the specific requirements for the material.
These will tell you what you need to know.
As you're not spraying & there is little risk of inhaling droplets of the mixed lacquer you need to take adequate measures as per the Datasheet to protect yourself from the fumes released.
