I have slightly high blood pressure and usually take my readings in the morning, at my desk but today I went out for a good ride on my bike, came back, showered up and took another reading and it was the lowest it's ever been recorded in recent years! i thought it'd be higher after exercise?

After finding out I had high blood pressure,170/120, my GP put me on medication and also told me to take moderate daily exercise, nothing too drastic just enough that I was slightly "out of puff" and on the verge of breaking into a sweat. Blood pressure now fine, not sure if it was just the tablets or the exercise or combination of both?

I did a bit of investigation into it and it's common as your veins/arteries etc expand when you exercise to move blood faster so shortly afterwards your heart rate has slowed to normal but your veins/arteries are still expanded leading to lower blood pressure.

Plus vasodilation post hot shower.

Your BP can hit some impressive numbers when exercising.

200/120 is not uncommon in bikeists.

Not to mention iron pumpers.

How that's good for you I don't know.

But apparently it is.

Are you suggesting you researched a health condition on the internet and it didn't suggest you were moments from death?

Impressive.
