Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection & Journey free on the PS4

I didn't search around massively before posting this so apologies if it's already been mentioned somewhere.

Sony have made the Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection (all 3 games) and Journey free from today until May 5th. It's yours to keep beyond that date.

Just downloading. I've never owned an Uncharted despite them being my type of games (never owned a PS3) so looking forward to them.

I know the first one isn't as well regarded as the others - is it worth skipping it?

Are the controls for the first game janky or is my controller on the way out?

1. 2 is worth playing through but I found the first game and the third to be pretty underwhelming.

I like a good treasure hunting game in the vain of Indiana Jones but the controls and repetitive shooting parts of the first are making me wonder whether to skip it.
