Hi all,

Currently own a 2015 Lightning Silver Vanquish - wonderful vehicle after owning a fabulous tungsten silver V8VS. Really enjoy the big V12 after the fantastic V8!

Anyhoo - took the cover off recently to plug in the ctek charger to maintain the battery, and sadly discovered some unsightly light scratches on the spoiler. Look like faint single and double track marks which can only just slightly be felt with a fingernail.

Can anyone recommend a fix or a company/ detailer who might be able to help? As ever, although you can only see it close up in a certain light I still know it’s there so want to fix it! The car was recently (2 months ago) given a gtech platinum finish too. I’m based SE London/ Kent way.

Thanks as ever!

Yes, a Detailer should get them removed.

Great - thanks both. I was wondering if there was a self help solution that would help but I guess I don’t want to make a hash of it given the very thin clear coating!

Am looking for AM approved detailers in the south London/ Kent area if anyone can help with that at all?

Thanks again! 👍

You don't need an AM approved detailer you just need someone who is good or a recommendation from here.

A good machine polish and then rewax and that will be gone!

Sounds like a good little lockdown project?

Do you have a DA polisher? If not you can pick them up relatively inexpensively on sites like Cleanmycar.

A meguires microfibre pad, some menzerna 2200 and half an hour of your time polishing and you'll have done it yourself.

It’s just a bit too far for me to go and just do the scratch, but have suggested someone else that’s more local. I also think that it will require some sanding first before polishing. Just getting a little DA may have worked for people in the past in getting their cars looking better, but if you can catch your nail in it, then it’s a different matter.

Much appreciated Paddy - and thanks for the recommendation too!

Will post pictures on a hopefully successful result - stay safe all.
