Hi all

Looking for a bit of advice from you all! I’m keen to pull together a pretty basic website that I want to be able to use database functionality with.

It’s not a million dollar idea and won’t turnover any kind of money, it’s a web based “health” app that a user would record a few metrics in from time to time. The script would then adjust targets in reaction to the data. I’m a member of a few forums related to the niche so there is a very small community who may benefit from it - and it satisfies my urge to have a project on the go.

Having experience in these areas many years ago I would default to PHP and MySQL - is that still relevant these days or are there better ways to do it? The simpler the better for me.

I’m interested in the scripting side mainly and the logic/equations that will be used, the actual design and implementation I find more of a chore so if there was a simple way to bolt a front end / responsive layout on to a script that would be amazing.

Does anything suitable exist that I could use in place of PHP? I was thinking in the days of Swift / apps / Pearl / WYSIWYG editors there might be something out there to suit.

Thanks
