I didn’t want this to get lost in all the CV threads.

There she was last night, clapping with dozens of her bobbies on Westminster bridge.

Generally you never see a copper, always complaining of lack of manpower yet plenty there last night to clap.

Surrounded by hundreds of people, many with children who would clearly have made a non essential journey to be there.

So packed it was impossible to be 2m apart.

I’m not of the mind normally to say she should know better.

But jeeeeeeesus! What was going through her head?

To my mind whoever hires the Met Commissioner needs to bring her in and say either resign or I’ll fire you.

If she gets a £million pay off it’s worth it because we do not need her as an example of leadership.

Unbelievable.

Is this the same Thankyou4calling who spent months writing off the virus as a sniffle, and was Buster Gonad order of Bobby Big Borrocks about heading to Wuhan in the middle of the outbreak without a worry?

The one now clutching his handbag about Social Distancing?

Just do one. Then do another one. Iterate until you don't have any left to do, then find some more to do.

Muppet.

Makes life simple. Rather than the whole country scuttling out blinking into the light for clap thursday these elites can do it for us on westminster bridge where its obviously a sterile protected zone.
Good job dick.

You don't need to do that, but you may want to visit the Westminster Bridge thread and consider posting there.

Jeezus! I have just watched that London Bridge episode with appropriately named Cressida Dick.

The junior doc who filmed and slated her has every right to be angry.

And there was little ol' me and everybody else in recent weeks doing their damndest to keep 2 m apart and there is Dick amongst the hordes, so close to each other on the bridge, it might just as well have been a 60's hippy love in!
At least they had an excuse back then in the 60s - even when high they had more up top than any of these self-congratulatory fools!

Agreed, what on earth are they thinking, clearly not thinking. Shame on them, have they forgotten the core issue, it seems so

Yep..Because it's become about how "the clappers" appear to other people, rather than about just supporting the nhs/key workers.

Do the clappers think that key workers care that a bridge can be filled by people with nothing else to do? I doubt it.

You’d think someone so knowledgeable about virology to state Coronavirus was nothing and he’d be more than happy to travel to the epicentre would also know that yourself isn’t a posh word for you.

Yep, there was 10 police cars outside our local hospital on Thursday night.

But, make sure you do not have an accident while doing it, because there was also 12 ambulances and 3 fire engines!

It was a nice gesture 3 weeks ago when it started, but in typical way with modern life it has quickly turned into a game of oneupmanship. Clapping to banging saucepans, there is now even fireworks FFS...

It's been the same outside my local hospital on the past two Thursday evenings with fire & rescue, police and ambulance crews getting out for a mutual back-slapping session. I don't mind them supporting each other in that way but when a couple of dozen hospital staff pour out and stand shoulder to shoulder waving and clapping it does make me wonder.

Thursday evenings here have morphed into a neighbourhood self-appreciation society with people waving and shouting to each other and kids making as much noise as they can. If it cheers them up and allows them to let off steam for five minutes I don't have an issue with it.

OT slightly .... When was the last time that we had a Police Commissioner who was any good ? It's a long time ago, and I'd better not name names in case I get my collar felt.
