Recently liberated this Recaro seat from a local wood!!

I thought it must be out of an 80's hot hatch but am struggling to identify the seat material in any period photos.

Anyone recognize it?

Also other sporty Rovers of the time. My dad had an 820 Vitesse (Turbo) and a 620 Ti (also turbo) as the company car scheme limited him to European and under 2 litres. He had a Volvo 940 Turbo too.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that both Rovers had that seat pattern, or something very similar.

Thankyou both.

That looks pretty conclusive (apart from Recaro badging).

Probably more good seats around than there are good cars left then!?

Seen some pictures online now which show the 827 with nicely stitched Recaro labels.

This seat just has a plastic Recaro badge. Maybe off a lesser model?

Rover 827s didn't have Recaros, either as std or as an option. 800 Vitesse did and the ones in Vitesse Sport had 'Recaro' stiched in red on the seat. IIRC, the headrest was also leather covered and the front thigh support for seat was adjustable. Don't know whether std Vitesse was the same.

That seat does look a bit 'Roverish' though.

Sorry - my mention of 827 was misleading. Just thinking of that as the top spec which, of course, it wasn't.
