Thought I'd check with the masses on the photo of the main bearings. I've no idea how many miles, car is at 46k and suggested it had a new engine/line bore at some point for the larger journal crank as it's a 96 4.2.

Measured the crank main and big end journal diameters and they're all within .01mm /.0004" taper and round, most are the exact same, so bar a crank polish its standard size shells and back in. Thrust shell to crank clearance, from verniers, is .02mm but this is a Vernier ref.

Bores may require a look as they're .04mm out of round on 2 sleeves, very little taper. But as there isn't a spec manual (sure there is but unknown) with all the tolerances it makes it a little more difficult.

Question I have, is a crank rebalance essential?
