Looking for a small all-in-one HiFi system, ideally that can take separate speakers.

It's for a small flat/holiday home so needs to be reasonably compact. Must be reasonable sound quality, no cheapo Sony style mini hifis.

Must have DAB+ as I like radio. Internet radio would be nice as well.

Remote control.

CD would be nice but not essential.

Aux in

Optical in, but not essential.

Any ideas.? Budget, £200-300. Would buy secondhand if I can.

I was going to suggest the Kef LSX speakers, but they are a bit beyond your budget.

Personally I would be looking at a pair of active wifi speakers. The source will be your phone - Spotify, BBC etc.

I agree with the above.

Steljes Audio NS3, £200 from Richersounds, Bluetooth, no need for anything else except streaming from your smartphone.

Something like this would be a perfect solution.

https://petertyson.co.uk/yamaha-mcr-n470d

If you already have speakers then you can buy the unit on its own within budget. It's not a big system and does everything you want plus streaming/internet radio.

The Cambridge audio one has a similar set of features and seems a bit easier to find second hand.

For less money you can still find these new, and used.

Does everything but streaming, I had one for a number of years and found it very impressive for the size.

Thanks all good options, that's the type of system I want. Only down side on the Cambridge one is the depth, not sure it will fit on the shelf where I want to place it.

Thanks I'm really after a small Hifi system, I want to press one button and it comes on with the last radio station I was listening to, can't be messing around pairing phones etc. Also Internet is flakey.

Denon. Many mixi systems from which to choose.

I've a midi F107 and a mini M38 2nd hand from internet auction site e. Both are pre internet radio. One even lives in the kitchen which is not the best environment but they both just work smile

Would you consider a HomePod? I love mine, I have two of them paired up and packed my separates away last year.

Another thumbs up for the Denon M3x, mine is still doing good service although my daughter has it now.

I also auditioned the Cambridge equivalent back to back when choosing some speakers and found that had the edge in sound terms but felt a little flimsy.

Denon M39 to M41, whatever you can get on Gumtree for under £100. Add in a Jongo for £40 as well.

I've got 3 of the Denons (various models), one in each garage and one in a smaller room and they're great for the price. One of the garage ones is connected to some AE Aegis speakers I got for £50, so for £150 all in I'm delighted with what it sounds like.

4G, it's a holiday home so doesn't have a landline. It works ok but can be intermittent.

Thanks, yes I think Denon is the way to go, am looking at the models you mentioned above. They should work nicely with my Warfedale speakers.

Anything from Revo... I bought a DAB radio from them ages ago and have ended up with one of their radios in most rooms in the house. Excellent things, great sounds, great options for connectivity (radio / bluetooth / optical etc...) and a great sounds quality.

They also look pretty nice so avoid the whole 'hifi large black boxes' esq complaints that my serious kit raises!

As it happens, I have one of the Denon mini-systems I bought for my father in law.
He used it for about 9months before he sadly passed away, and now its sitting in its box in a cupboard.
Its an RCD M40DAB (so has DAB, obvs).

If its of any interest, please PM me.
