HVLP / Gravity fed gun recommendations
Discussion
Hi Guys
Following on from a compressor issue thread I have in the 'home mechanics' section, I need to purchase a HVLP / gravity fed paint gun.
I am more used to a suction gun so if anyone can recommend a gun plus tip size, air pressure required etc for spaying 2k primer, 2k base and clear lacquer that would be great.
I am going to be painting 2 bumpers so the paint pot needs to be a suitable size.
Cheers

Surprised no-one else has chipped in.
Very much a case of you get what you pay for.
There have been a number of recommendations by others on this section of PH so a search might help.
My own guns are Smart repair oriented so a little on the small side for full bumper resprays & large area but are all £200+ each.
I do have a cheapie full size gravity fed gun with 1.4 set up bought originally for primer but will cope with basecoat (solvent or waterbased) and 2k clear. No name on it but IIRC it's one of the Machine Mart Clarke blue coloured £30 jobbies. Bit coarse in the needle so I wouldn't recommend it.
V8covin in previous spraying threads suggests the Devilbiss FLG5 with 1.4 set-up & 1/2 litre cup. From £99 on ebay.
See if you get any more recommendations.

Just been dealing with a great company who specialise in spray guns etc and have ordered an Italian gun with a couple different tips.
Look forward to trying them out
