Hi All,

I am about to purchase a new Omega, does anyone have an idea of the dealer profit margin?

Would be handy to have an idea of how much negotiation room there is.

Thanks in advance

Depends on the model, but 20% should be achievable.

Maybe consider grey dealers as well?

I don't know how much margin they have but 20% has never been a problem for me.

Depends on the model, how long it's been around, what the current demand is etc.

No harm in walking into any AD and asking, though.

Or just go speak with Dom Hackett.

Watch his “how to beat the authorised dealers”

I wouldn’t pay more than just over £3k for a new hesalite Speedmaster for example!

I wasn’t expecting the RRP to be £9.4k

I can’t imagine they fly out the door (especially when the shops re-open) so I give them a GOOD squeeze, 30% at least

I’d want a new one for the price of used one!

That MAY change because of what’s going on, but aim for that as a maximum, they won’t be going anywhere!

Dealers do need to make a profit to stay in business, but on a watch like that, very expensive for a speedmaster and a “bold” design, I can’t imagine they’d be flying off the shelf, so a good deal should be possible.

Seconded, I bought my Titanium Planet Ocean from him and he did me a great deal without the bother of haggling.

You can get a mint one box and papers from WF for 6k they will sell at below that maybe £5700, meaning they pay £3-3.5k so go into it with your eyes open if buying a new one even with 20% off.

I had the steel version it's a lovely watch but very thick...very.

They need to make a profit.

Get yourself a good deal, but don't be part of the retail problem.

Remember, this is why many independents won't survive the current situation. For years now customers have been so obsessed with getting things as cheap as possible that shops have very little room to operate. Pay a fair price and allow the dealer enough margin to operate.

Just my 2p.

Lovely watch OP. Good luck.

£6246 after the further 10% discount.

No grey dealer will get close on a new watch.

If you don’t buy it at this price, you weren’t serious about the watch in the first place.

Great price.

Lovely watch.

Jomashop are usually my reference point for price and they can't beat it - https://www.jomashop.com/omega-watch-215-92-46-51-...
