I remember reading about 9000 in the Bible but that's a few years old now so add a thou onto that maybe.

Of course I may be imagining all that.

Say 10k. If so, that's 1% of all Chims ever sold currently for sale on PHeads classis!!

Between 10,000 and 12,000 are figures I have heard bandied about.

Which bible is that? The total was around 5000 ish. Just done the estimates for the second edition and it works out at around 7000 for the whole run and about 1800 for the Griff 500. Total. production numbers really tailed off over the last 2-3 years.

Steve,

Do you know how the 7000 splits down between models. In particular, how many Chim 500s were produced.

No.

My gut feel is that they are the less common of the Chimaeras most people who wanted the Chimaera didn't want the power. Griff owners had no choice.

Having spoken to the factory in great detail about the number of 500's produced (as it took me a year to find the right one, they told me to work on a maximum of 1 in 5 being a 500 so probably about 1400 ish in total and if you calculate that figure against the total up for sale at any on time its usually about right ish.

Having said that steve is right re the last 3 years tailing off since the tuscan was announced / produced i.e. 99 onwards their have been probably less than 75 500's produced in total, I know because it took ages to find one in the coulour combo I wanted.

Reduce that figure as the 500 sort of appeared later on in the car's history so the first 3 odd years it never happened.

Gut feel is probably around 1000 and getting less as the cars get smashed....

All very intersting reading ! This must mean that 500s are relatively rare. And must be sought after / worth more !

Must go and polish mine

So we are to have a second edition of the 'bible' - keep up the good work Steve. Are you going to accept trade ins for moth eaten first edition copies such as the one that resides in my garage !!

Yes the draft is complete at 427 pages... Includes a lot of new stuff as you can imagine. Just starting the review cycle.
