Sprint booster or Remap 987.1
Discussion
Hi. Currently in process of fitting new 200 cel headers, ( waiting for new lambdas ).
Looking ahead one of the areas I want to resolve is the poor throttle response and flat spot in the lower rev ranges.
Any thoughts on whether a Sprint Booster is enough or whether a remap is worthwhile?
I've read conflicting reports. Having spoken to one well reputed mapper/dyno man he advised the IPD/GT3 plenum/TB was poor as the stock ECU can't adjust enough for the increased volumetric airflow even with a remap so that leaves my mods at air filter/200 cel headers/Cat back exhaust..On this basis I cant see a remap delivering much on the basis its NA so just wondered what the thoughts are?. I certainly can't get my head around any mapping that's not live on a dyno but even the benefits of that I'm questioning if mods are minimal?
Sprint Boosters seem a bit tin pot/max power/halfords etc but in fairness I've read good reports and what they offer seems to fit well with the 987 in particular due to the slow throttle response/dull delivery at 2-3k revs..More power would be nice but what I'm after is just a more responsive/urgent car at low revs , ( whereas it only really seems to get into its stride as I pass 4k ).
I noticed one of the inlet vacuum sensors on the inlet was knackered the other day so dont know if that was having an effect either but have ordered a new one..
Any advice welcome..

Get a remap and get the mapper to activate sports mode in the software.
You will gain nothing from a sprint booster and nothing without upping timing from a remap etc.
Porsche sports mode gives perfect throttle response.

Recommend a live remap to optimise for the headers. Intake/IPD won’t gain you anything imo.
Sprint booster just artificially increases the engines response to torque demand(throttle) but doesn’t actually add power and you’ll just run out of throttle modulation.
