In this lockdown time, my kids have been with me a bit and while my son has been happy with Fortnite, my daughter and I have been playing Unravel 2 together and we completed most of it in a week (apart from a few challenges, but we'll do that when they're with me again at the weekend).

She's asked me to find a new game that we can play together as she's loved spending that time with me completing this together - can anyone suggest a game / games that we can play on the Xbox (one) that we'll be able to have a laugh playing?

Thanks

JTW

The boy plays endless minecraft. I join him occasionally.

Riverbond was amusing in small doses for 2-4 players.

All of the Lego games are better multiplayer.

Utter stupidity.
Supermarket shriek.

(Unravelled Too is a lovely thing though)

She's outgrown (or got fed up with) Minecraft but we used to do that endlessly a few years back...

Supermarket Shriek looks cool - is it a game where we can both play at the same time? That's the key thing we're looking for

And yes, Unravel 2 is a lovely little game smile

My daughter (7) and I played Rayman Legends and Overcooked after repeated plays of Unravel 2. We also enjoy Lego Harry Potter and Lego Jurassic Park.

Rayman was my favourite (after Unravel) and I’m not usual a fan of that style of game. It’s pretty funny, looks great, good music and the difficulty ramps up at a sensible pace.

You’ll get a single button each. Do not be expecting a deep experience, but it’s amusing.

I have used a couple of old laptops, and installed Unreal Tournament '99.

Going to set up a LAN match later this week.

I have been playing a bit of Gran Turismo with my youngest also.

If you have VR, the Beat Saber is awesome.

My daughter and I love Singstar. We do duets, I cant sing for toffee and break the glass but its great fun especially when you play it back. Mario Kart is also good.

Is it worth £15 though - I know I won't get an Unravel2 experience, but something not far off would be nice...

ETA - I've read it's up to 4 on one screen - and CD Keys has it for £8.99

Any other reviews on it before I buy it?

With an Xbox, consider signing up to the game pass for a couple of months and see what’s there. That’s where I picked supermarket shriek up.

I’d not want to have spent £15 on it.

Life is strange

Interesting story, relatable, and well presented, and some interesting puzzles/set pieces.

That should fit the bill nicely

Ori and the Will of the Whisp. Don't use it enough to bother with game pass, got this for 10yo but lovely graphics/ music, nice story, easy/ normal/ hard level setting. Bought from Amazon for £17 for disc bit I think it's in game pass or download if prefer.

I had Game Pass, but the kids never used it and they only really needed/wanted Live Gold so I stopped the subscription to it.

Will o the Wisp is out because it's single player only and that's not what she wants, it looks lovely though smile

Rayman looks to be a leader though - It'll kill some time at any rate. Other suggestions still welcome smile

Great game but it's not one for sharing if you ask me. Perhaps I'm just a big old softy but it's a very emotional game and I would suggest the themes are bit too adult (and, might I say, too close to home) for a 12 year old girl.

It did look a bit grown up and not really what I want which is a scrolling (type) game that we can both play on screen together that is fun in the same way that Unravel 2 is. Rayman is fitting the bill at present smile

If you’ve got live gold, download one of the free games with gold this month, Toybox Turbos.

It’s a license free version of Micro Machines from back in the Megadrive days.

It’s a bit light on features, but the head to head races are still good fun.

Another vote for Overcooked. Not one for long sessions, but fun to dip in and out of. It does make me very angry and shout at my kids for being rubbish though.
