Fiat Block Rebore
Discussion
Hello All,
I have a Fiat Twin Cam which I have stripped and revealed some water damage (corrosion) in the bores.
Can anyone recommend a good local machine shop, I am near Maidstone Kent, that I could approach to get the work done?
Also, does anyone know if/what oversize pistons are available? It is an 1800cc that was originally in a Fiat 132 I think.
Thanks in advance

Hi I've done a few of these but not from your area. Mosts of the machine shops that are left in existence are fairly competent but maybe you could ask around the trade for their opinions.
You can get pistons - they are 84mm standard and come in a variety of oversizes. You can get them from Spiderpoint or Holtmann&Niedergerke in Germany. Just search under 124 spider or coupe.
Most of the pistons now are made in South America by one of Fiat's engine suppliers and are good quality. You'd have do do a big search to find some NOS Mahle pistons and they'll probably cost double.
