When I forget to take off my glasses before pulling something on over my head it is almost invariably with my most snug fitting jumper.

Seriously stuck and looking stupid. It's not a good look. There is flailing.

Snap, though not yet furloughed... Got a good deal at the time, reckon it would be better now.

Me too. Also not furloughed but I bought my retirement project car a day or two before the lockdown. I had my first misgivings as I travelled to collect it on an empty train but I was committed. My sons refer to it as 'Dad's new garden ornament.'

Post me the keys and I'll hop on the train and go and get it for you and drive it (hard) up to zurich. You'll have a full tank of petrol I assure you on your collecting.

I know your comment is aimed at the Geneva car but as my car is at Milan (Linate), and I have a friend with a spare parking space in Zurich, a quick whiz past Como and into Switzerland would not be an altogether unreasonable proposition but I fancy the border is closed.. frown

Ah, retirement! I'll drive round the country meeting PHers and finding derelict petrol stations to photograph for the Humer Umbeam thread.

Okay, maybe I won't.

Look on the bright side. When we eventually get out of lockdown, there will be a lot more derelict petrol stations to photograph!

I mentioned on here before that I intended to retire this year. I'm 54 and a Contractor so with IR35 changes looming and my pension less than a year away I was all set to retire at the end of March.

The plan was to immediately book a quick week in the sun for peanuts (flights to Tenerife were £80), and plan a big US holiday for later in the year.

Covid fked my plans, and my pension (did manage to sell quite a bit before the big falls though).

Retiring at the end of February and looking forward to travelling.

Having a holiday booked to the USA for March.

Trying to sell my old motorbike with nobody allowed to view it.

Having my new motorbike in my mates shed and not even being able to collect it even if I had room which I don’t because I can’t sell my old one.

Any of the above cry

Q1 2020: being on gardening leave with the opportunity for loads of skiing, and, after years of not being able to got as it clashed with work travel, IMSA/WEC at Sebring, Florida.
I went to Tampa, and had tickets for ice hockey, baseball, St Pete GP and Sebring - all of which was cancelled within 48h of my arrival!

I packed up and fked off home early. frown

(Fortunately, the RV rental has been kept open by the owner for 1 year, and Sebring may happen in November, but only the IMSA part.)

Took redundancy when the deal was that I could take my pension at 50, reduced by 25%.

Then 2008 happened, the rules changed and became 55/25%

Im taking the pension now but the rule change cost me thousands per year for the rest of my life.

Those women complaining about the state pension years change are losing a lot less than those in my situation.

I think someone should bring a class action lawsuit but I don't know what one of those really is :-(

Class Actions are collective claims from those who feel they've lost / been ripped off. They're very common in the U.S. on securities' claims, e.g., when a company misstated their earnings and stock prices were inflated over a period, and investors bought at a high price in that period. The investors file a CA against the company.
