Hi everyone, this is my first visit / post on this site and to be honest, I'm v. impressed, lots of knowledge and passion.

Basically, to cut a long story short, I don't yet have a Cerb, but have seriously started looking now.

Please could any of you assist with a rough guide to annual running costs - I understand that services are every 6k, but would like to know an "average" cost.

Also, (don't want to push my luck on the first outing) what should I be looking for and to avoid. I understand that 2000 gave the Cerb a slight facelift and ironed out a few teething problems - what are the differences?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks.

Allow £3K pa for servicing and breakages. Some yrs you'll get away with £1K and others could be more.
That way you wont be in for any nasties.

Search through the archive for lots more info on this, but basically, the 2000 4.5 model has the different front lights, and was allegedly "light weight". Difference is pretty marginal, and the standard Hella lights still pretty crap IMHO (compared to 100/85 bulb upgrade in the old lights).

The cars have been continually revised over time, and lots of the older cars have had newer bits retrofitted anyway. Generally 98+ is supposed to cause less hassle, e.g. have the latest type of clutch to avoid expensive retrofitting work.

Do any of you use your Cerby's as every day transport or are they kept as weekend toys?

I use mine everyday (almost). But I dont use it for short journeys. I dont like to do les than 10 miles on a regular basis so that the engine has a chance to go through the full cycle.

I've used mine every day since I got it - nearly three years ago. The journey to/from work is only 15 mins or so. Gets a bit annoying with Surrey traffic, and keeping it under 3K until warmed up is tricky, but no big deal. And I still look forward to going for a blast at the weekends!

Excellent.

Sorry to ask really basic questions, but I'm trying to make up my mind over a 911 or Cerbera.

Guess It's best to start with the basics...

Depends on the 911 you are thinking about. But the 911 doesnt compare in the speed, passion, looks, noise depts BUT it is probably cheaper to run, easier to sell on, easier to live with as an everyday run about, reliability etc stakes. IMHO
But I would rather have a cerb. But then again most people here will say that.
