Done to death I know...

After test driving a few s-tronic cars recently, I don't dislike the paddles (feel like my old A220D) but the box in 3 cars so far just doesn't seem great? Shifting in manual at slower speeds with less throttle input is slow, it does feel quicker at higher speed though with more throttle input? Is that accurate or am I imagining it!

The downshift is really 'soft', I was hoping for a more aggressive blip to make doing it more rewarding, all in all it feels quite vague and un-engaging to the point of not knowing what gear I'm in.

Can you remap the s-tronic to improve the downshift and shift times? Is it advisable to do?

Or do I just buy a manual as it'll never be up to my M3 with KMP wheel/paddles and GTS gearbox map frown

Thanks for that,

Chatting to a few people now it seems the STronic isn't that amazing anyway? Also sounds like mapping them adds to the potential faults (and bills) so I think I'll go manual! smile

S tronic box is epic, and mapping won't cause any issues at all if you don't have it done by Barry on your drive way for a half eaten twix. I run an S3 with s tronic with nearly 400bhp and the box hasn't missed a beat, changes are faultless and with the map manual mode is manual. S tronic gets my vote all day long

Thanks for that reply..

I haven't gone for a car yet, probably wait a few weeks now anyway so will view more S tronic cars.
