Possible chest infection antibiotics

I think I have a chest infection I've had bad cough dry since last Tuesday, a temp for one day but nothing else, feel ok a part from tiredness due to not sleeping from cough, I'm coughing alot feels like someone tickling my throat. In current covid climate will I be able to get antibiotics perscribed? Looking at my gp website it says if you have a cough don't come in so not sure how they can listen to chest.

Antibiotics are for bacterial infections, their over prescription is a reason why so many don't work. They do nothing for viruses, influenza or colds.

Aren't those the symptoms of covid19 anyway?

I had a chest infection years back and it felt like this, I'm sure they gave me antibiotics for it but may be I wrong. Yeah they appear to be covid symptoms but apart from annoying cough I feel ok, my son has the cough as well but not as bad, my partner has a light cough but nothing more both seem fine, my cough probably worse as I was a light smoker, seems like a cold but just bad timing to get it.

Antibiotics do work if you have a chest infection, Amoxicillin usually.

I'd say in the absence of a test that you should all be self isolating for two weeks.
