So I have two identical A3s, well, one is in English the other German language but that shouldn't make any difference.
One allows me to choose if the apps store in the main memory or the SD card. The other doesn't!
Both phones have a SD chip with lots of free space.
The sequence I use on the phone that allows it is,
Apps
Select {app}
Memory
.. then on my phone I get the option to select Storage Used. On her's only "Used Storage"

What setting have I missed? It's driving me crazy. I've gone from being "a computer whizz" in my wife's eyes to "I'll have to get a man to sort it out!"
Help!

Can you not change the language temporarily?

When you put the SD card in were they both allocated the same way? On one phone I had the SD card could either be for Apps (& was encrypted) or storage. It was a one-off choice.

Are you trying to move the same apps on each phone. If not remember not all apps can be moved to the SD card.

Same chips, same formats, same apps!
Puzzling.

Can you store anything on the SD card, music, photo? Can you tell your camera app to use the SD card as the photo storage and see if it does store the photo on the card?

Have you checked the SD card is working properly by swapping the cards over between phones and testing both phones?

The camera app reports that it saves to the SD chip but Android reports that it saves to main memory!
I checked and it does save to the chip and not main memory....

I think that I might have found the "problem".
Just checked the max size of chip that an A3 can handle. Looks like I stuffed a 256 in. My phone only has a 64 chip.
I reckon she's going to loose some data soon... bugger.

Although I've just checked on the Samsung website and it should take 256!
I give up.

Are they both on the same OS version?
