Starting to do my Vantage research, and given the worldly situation, it's not like I can go to a car show or to a dealer with one in stock and measure this myself.

Could anyone give me the length and width dimensions of the Vantage cargo shelf that's behind the seats under which the battery is stored (I am aware it's a trapezoid -- so the length of the shorter bit is fine)? Additionally, are there any D-rings, straps or other attachment points back there -- I believe the answer is, "no", aside from a nylon loop in which to lift it to access the battery.

It's not a make or break on a future purchase decision, I'm just curious of the dimensions, and can't find it documented anywhere (just searched for several hours).

Thanks in advance!

Here you go. Depth 618; front width 850; rear corners are curved, but width across the cord attachments is 610

Seeing mention of 'cord attachments', made me wonder whether those dimensions are for the hinged parcel shelf (boot).

Think OP is referring to the shelf above the battery.

Nylon loop, didn't know I had one of those, will need to investigate smile

I've always wondered what those two fixings are for on the struts, cargo net or something similar?

This Yank thanks you, again! This was what I was looking for, and should’ve referred to it as the, “battery shelf”. Seems like plenty of space for a small bag or two when the boot is full.

The Vantage boot is surprisingly generous for a sports car. Larger capacity than the bigger brother, DB9.
A few PHers have even posted photos of a (non-folding) bicycle in the boot.

She's just like a pick up! biggrin

There are actually two more medium size bags side to side upright on the shelf we are discussing.

Plenty of space in the coupe for two persons luggage over 3 weeks touring in Europe, but nothing spare for a box or two of wine on the way home. In contrast my DB mark III easily packs 6 boxes and quite a few individual bottles in addition to the luggage.

It’s not however great with the parcel shelf in place, and the shape of it isn’t the most convenient... in fact it’s one of the few things I find a bit disappointing. First world problem though as it’s not the only car.

Folks, thanks again! Don’t worry, as the car is plenty practical for my needs. I just wanted that specific detail because I’m very detail-oriented.

Trust me, if you knew what I drove currently (and the climate I dare drive it in) you’d understand why I’m considering permanently adding a Vantage to the garage to be a, “normal car.” wink
